Two weeks ago EMSI participated in a conference in Washington, D.C. hosted by the Alliance for Excellent Education to explain the far-reaching effects of reducing the nation’s high school dropout rate. The results of the study were fueled by an economic model developed by EMSI and All4Ed.

All4Ed has now made video and audio of the conference available on its site. This includes speeches from former West Virginia governor and All4Ed president Bob Wise, State Farm CEO Edward Rust, and America’s Promise Alliance chairwoman Alma Powell.

If you scroll down on the video link, there’s also a more technical discussion involving EMSI research economist Tim Nadreau. He talks about the data incorporated in the study and gives a bit of background on EMSI’s proprietary input-output model. If you’re looking for some of the finer details of the study, the discussion video is worth your time.
