When: Thursday, March 29 at 2 p.m. EST EMSI will host a webinar with Wayne Brown, Chief Career Officer, at the Avenue Scholars Foundation.

Description: Avenue Scholars, an Omaha-based organization, has had great success providing intrusive support to low-income students through high school, college and into their careers. In partnership with local educational institutions and workforce groups, Avenue Scholars implemented Career Coach with its students last year. “Career Coach is their personal GPS,” Brown said. “It’s how they figure out where they’re going to go with their life. It’s how they figure out what they’re going to major in college. It’s how they figure out and negotiate that world of work and what they should be specializing in. We use it as a highly structured tool. It’s been very important to us.”

In this webinar you will hear how Wayne and Avenue Scholars have used Career Coach as a starting point for students.

Read more about Wayne’s work with Career Coach and how other partners in Omaha, including the University of Nebraska-Omaha and Metropolitan Community College, are using Career Coach.
