Emulation is the process of mimicking the functionality of one system using another system. Emulators are software programs that allow a computer or mobile device to behave like a different computer or device, in order to run software or games that were designed for that original platform. Emulators require a specialized skillset to configure and use properly, and are often used by developers and gamers to relive classic games and software from older systems.
