AWS Amplify

AWS Amplify refers to a set of development tools and services from Amazon Web Services (AWS) used to build, deploy, and manage scalable web and mobile applications. It supports application features such as authentication, API integration, data storage, hosting, serverless backend services, and configuration of cloud resources. In work settings, it is applied by developers to streamline application delivery, connect front-end interfaces with AWS services, and simplify cloud-based application development workflows.

AWS Lambda is a serverless compute service provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS) that allows you to run code in response to events and triggers such as changes to data in an Amazon S3 bucket, API Gateway requests, or even scheduled events. It eliminates the need to provision and manage servers, and you only pay for the compute time that is actually consumed by your code. As a specialized skill, proficiency in AWS Lambda involves understanding of AWS services, programming languages such as Python or Node.js, and event-driven architectures.

Amazon Cognito refers to a cloud based service for user sign in, account management, and access control for applications. It is used to create and manage authentication flows, user directories, and permission based access in software systems. In work settings, the skill supports secure customer and employee access for web and mobile applications, and helps integrate identity management into deployed services.

Redis refers to an in-memory data structure store, commonly used as a database, cache, and message broker. This skill encompasses understanding data storage, retrieval, and management techniques that enable high-performance applications. Knowledge of Redis is utilized to enhance application speed and efficiency by providing quick access to data and facilitating real-time data processing and analytics.

The Serverless Framework is a web framework written using Node.js. Serverless is the first framework developed for building applications on AWS Lambda, a serverless computing platform provided by Amazon as a part of Amazon Web Services. Currently, applications developed with Serverless can be deployed to other function as a service providers, including Microsoft Azure with Azure Functions, IBM Bluemix with IBM Cloud Functions based on Apache OpenWhisk, Google Cloud using Google Cloud Functions, Oracle Cloud using Oracle Fn, Kubeless based on Kubernetes, Spotinst and Webtask by Auth0.
