The legacy of innovation and rigorous economic research that was established at Burning Glass Technologies now lives on in Lightcast. When Burning Glass merged with Emsi in 2021, the goal was to create something greater together. The real-time labor market data, models, taxonomies, and methodologies that Burning Glass was known for—data that helped leaders make smart, informed decisions—continues to meet the same high standards for detail and accessibility.

In fact, combining the two databases has made our insights even stronger. With more resources behind the scenes, we are able to fine-tune our analytics and expand our reach, pushing the boundaries of delivering the most comprehensive, detailed, and timely insights on the global labor market. Since our founding in 1999, we’ve gone through change—just like the labor market itself. And while we are now called Lightcast, our focus hasn't wavered and Burning Glass will continue to play a role in Lightcast's technology, products, and solutions. And we're still here to support enterprise, education, and the public sector.
