Track Company Layoffs with New WARN Data

We’ve added a new Layoff Activity section to Company Analytics, giving you direct visibility into workforce reductions reported through state WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) filings. Because WARN provides a 60-90 day advance notice on workforce reductions, this enhancement helps you understand not just how companies are hiring—but where they’re scaling back.
Why it matters
Job postings tell only part of the story. By incorporating WARN layoff data, you can now analyze workforce expansion and contraction together—revealing a more complete picture of company strategy, stability, and direction.
This is especially valuable for:
Identifying early signals of organizational change
Benchmarking competitors’ workforce reductions
Understanding how hiring and layoffs align over time
Assessing company health beyond job posting activity
What you can explore
With the Layoff Activity section, you can:
See whether a company has reported layoffs through WARN notices
Track the number of layoff events over time
Analyze how many employees were affected
Identify the most recent reported layoffs
Understand which roles or workforce segments were impacted
All data is sourced from publicly reported state WARN filings and is currently available for U.S.-based companies. Within the Company Analytics in Analyst, you can run a report, which will include:
Key Highlights summarizing total employees affected, number of events, and the most recent layoff
A Layoff Events table with detailed records of reported WARN notices
Flexible date range filters (e.g., past 12 months, last full year, last 3 years)
Turning insight into action
By combining layoff activity with hiring trends, you can better interpret company behavior—whether it’s restructuring, slowing growth, or reallocating talent.
This added visibility supports more informed decisions across competitive intelligence, workforce planning, and risk assessment.
