ACNPCs work in various healthcare settings such as intensive care units, emergency departments, and surgical units. They are responsible for assessing patients, diagnosing conditions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and providing patient education. ACNPCs work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective management of patient care. The certification is offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
