A Certified Continence Care Nurse (CCCN) is a registered nurse who has completed additional training and education in the management and treatment of urinary and fecal incontinence. This certification indicates that the nurse has expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with continence issues, as well as counseling and educating patients in self-care and prevention strategies. The certification is offered by the WOCN (Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses) Society and requires passing an exam and demonstrating ongoing continuing education and professional development.
