Celestial Navigation

Celestial Navigation is the practice of using the stars, moon, and other celestial bodies to navigate ships and airplanes. It involves understanding how to use instruments such as sextants and celestial charts to determine one's position on the earth's surface relative to these celestial bodies. This skill is highly specialized and requires a detailed knowledge of astronomy, mathematics, and navigation techniques. It is still used today by some maritime and aviation professionals, but has largely been replaced by GPS technology.
