Certified Adapted Physical Educator
Certified Adapted Physical Educator (CAPE) is a professional certification that denotes expertise in adaptive physical education. It is awarded by the National Consortium for Physical Education and Recreation for Individuals with Disabilities (NCPERID) to individuals who possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree, have completed a minimum of 200 hours of fieldwork, and passed an exam demonstrating knowledge in the field of adapted physical education. CAPEs work with individuals with disabilities to provide physical education programs that are tailored to their unique needs and abilities.
