Skinning (Animation)

Skinning in animation is the process of attaching a 3D model to a set of bones or joints so that it moves realistically as the bones or joints are manipulated. It requires knowledge of anatomy, rigging, and weight painting techniques to create a seamless and natural movement of the character or object. Skinners also need to be able to troubleshoot and adjust the skin weights to fix any issues that may arise during the animation process. It is a specialized skill that requires practice and experience to master.
