Colorado-based Academic Impressions has released a look at factors that should be weighed by higher education institutions before they dive into renewable energy investments. According to the piece, some of the issues that should be raised are how technically feasible renewable energy would be for your region, what grants/subsidies are available, and what impact investments would have on the local community.

In the post, Daniel Fusch writes, “For colleges considering their first investment (or a new investment) in renewable energy generation, due diligence in assessing the viability of the different options available to you is crucial – both so that you can identify the option that will be most cost-effective in both the short and the long term, and so that you don’t run into uncomfortable surprises midway through the project.”
