This week, the Aspen Institute announced the winners of the 2021 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence—what President Obama once referred to as, “basically the Oscars for great community colleges.”
This year, there were five winners across three categories, each with a substantial cash prize to support and expand their innovative work. Emsi offers a hearty congratulations to the winner, finalists with distinction, and this year’s rising star for their outstanding contributions to student success!
San Antonio College (Alamo Colleges District) – San Antonio, TX
Finalist with Distinction
Broward College – Fort Lauderdale, FL
San Jacinto College – Pasadena, TX
West Kentucky Community and Technical College – Paducah, KY
Amarillo College – Amarillo, TX
Emsi is honored to have worked with all five winners in recent years through a combination of providing labor market analytics, career exploration tools, and reports to quantify the institution’s economic impact on their community. With the top prize this year going to San Antonio College of the Alamo Colleges District, six of the past eight Aspen prize winners have been Emsi clients! We’re proud to support these institutions as they make data-driven decisions that foster student success.
