Employer Engagement 2.0: Episode 1 of the Let’s Talk Data series

Clarity is hard to come by these days. So we want to help you cut through the confusion with our new live event series, “Let’s Talk Data: Frontline Insights & Candid Conversations,” beginning with the talk, “Employer Engagement 2.0.”

During these talks, you’ll sit in with groups of community college leaders as they discuss how they have implemented (or plan to implement) sustainable responses to the economic and educational challenges brought on by industry advancements, learner preferences, hiring practices, industry partnership opportunities, and COVID-19. The goal? To equip you with the field-tested insights you need to say, “This is how our regional market and learners need support. This is what we’re doing about it.”

Join us for the first event on Monday, August 24, 2:00-2:30pm EDT: “Employer Engagement 2.0: How are you leveraging data to identify and expand your college’s industry partnerships?“, featuring Emsi client Columbus State Community College.

During the talk, Jeff Spain, Director of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership at CSCC, Scott Wegeng, Director of Employer Engagement and Experiential learning at CSCC, and Brian Bailey, Manager of Higher Education at Emsi, will discuss a range of employer engagement-related issues, including:

  • Some of the obstacles and roadblocks CSCC encountered in employer engagement and developing partnerships, and how they overcame them.

  • Their industry partners’ response to CSCC’s attention to industry-relevant job trends and employer needs.

  • How CSCC would do things differently to streamline partnership development.

  • Common problems that arise in employer engagement, and how labor market data analysis helps to solve them.

  • How their data-based partnerships have enriched the livelihoods of CSCC students and given them a direct link to in-demand, high-ROI jobs.

Jeff, Scott, and Brian will also field a few employer engagement-related questions during a short Q&A at the end of the talk. Can’t make it to the live event? No problem. Go ahead and register, and we’ll send you a link to the full recording.
