Inc. Magazine has named Economic Modeling Specialists Inc. (EMSI) to its list of the 500 fastest-growing private companies in America, a first-time distinction for the economics firm. EMSI, the only Idaho-based company on the list, climbed into the top 500 (at No. 409) after two consecutive years of being recognized on the Inc. 5,000 list.

Last year EMSI was ranked 1,938th by Inc., which uses 3-year percentage revenue growth to assemble the list.

“We are very pleased to be on this year’s list,” EMSI CEO Andrew Crapuchettes said. “It is a testimony to our customers’ loyalty and our staff’s hard work. Our business is all about our customers’ success, and their interaction with the data we provide. This honor serves as a reminder that we always need to be focused on improving the quality of our services, and the support we provide.”

EMSI serves a growing number of organizations in higher education, economic/workforce development, government, and the private sector by providing labor market and economic analysis tools and services. The company’s flagship product, Strategic Advantage, currently is used by more than 2,700 professionals across the U.S.

In the last year, EMSI has expanded its diverse array of services to include:

  • The Job Finder tool, which blends labor market data, current job postings, and occupational skills analysis to help jobseekers locate new opportunities.

  • A partnership with Silatech, an innovative social enterprise created to meet the urgent need to generate new jobs and opportunities for young people in the Arab world.

  • An expansion of the Strategic Advantage suite to include U.K. data.

“Our goal in all of these things is to marry the highest quality economic information with user-friendly tools to answer regional development questions,” concluded Rob Sentz, EMSI’s marketing director.
