Here’s a link we came across via the Economix blog. Mark Perry, an economist at the University of Michigan, posted some enlightening tidbits on the value of the US manufacturing sector compared to the entire output of the top five economies in the world.
What this boils down to, as Perry writes, is that American manufacturing is still “alive and well.” In fact, if the manufacturing sector were a separate country, it would be tied with Germany as the world’s third largest economy.
