PCU / Stepdown Registered Nurse

A PCU or Stepdown Registered Nurse cares for hospital patients who need close monitoring but not intensive care. Works in a hospital unit typically called Progressive Care Unit or Stepdown Unit. Monitors life signs and medications for patients who are progressing from more critical to less critical care. Works under the supervision of a physician, as part of a hospital nursing team.
