The first table (10-A) deals with “green increased demand” occupations, as classified by the O*NET Resource Center, for the Manufacturing cluster; the second table (10-B) relates to “green enhanced skills” occupations for the same cluster.

Findings:

  • Like you might expect, most of these manufacturing-related occupations have taken a pretty big hit. The biggest blows have come for Team assemblers (-144,000) and Laborers and freight, stock, and material movers (-253,000).

  • Among the classified increased demand occupations (Table 10-A), the only noticeable growth is for Electrical or electronic equipment assemblers and Chemical plant and system operators.

  • All the occupations listed in Table 10-B require no higher than an Associate’s degree.
