Moscow, ID - April 12, 2023 - Lightcast, a leader in labor market analytics, announced today that it has acquired Gazelle, a Montreal-based business intelligence provider. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Gazelle is the only business intelligence platform that ranks companies based on their likelihood to expand with a focus on fast-growing, high-potential companies using a wide variety of data sets and a proprietary AI model. Founded in 2015, Gazelle has a worldwide database of more than 9.5 million companies and 15 million contacts

Lightcast is a pioneer in the collection and analysis of information on the labor market with a rich database of more than one billion current and historical job postings. Incorporating Gazelle into Lightcast's suite of products and services allows clients to go from strategic to tactical insight on industries, occupations, skills, and companies.

“The combination of Gazelle’s business information and Lightcast’s labor analytics will produce essential insight for economic developers who are trying to draw new business to their communities, commercial real estate brokers with office space to lease, and corporations who want to identify prospects,” said Lightcast CEO Chris Kibarian.

In fact, Lightcast’s labor market information was one of the first sources Gazelle used in developing its analytical platform, said Steve Jast, Gazelle CEO.

“Gazelle and Lightcast have been friends for a long time,” Jast said. “Lightcast brings tremendous horsepower to bear from a sales, marketing, and development perspective. Lightcast’s industry-leading data sets, industry knowledge, and highly skilled staff will take Gazelle’s AI and feature development/enhancements to a whole new level.”

All Gazelle staff are expected to be retained, and the company office will remain in Montreal. Jast will be joining Lightcast as Senior Vice President of Strategy in the Community business unit, which serves the public sector.
