We are pleased to announce the EMSI knowledge base for Canada—a new website that gives you easy access to information, support, and answers to commonly asked questions about EMSI labour market data. Here you can also submit your own questions and learn about training opportunities.

More details below.

What’s included in the knowledge base?

First, we cover tutorials—step-by-step guides that help you achieve a specific task in Analyst. Second, we cover commonly asked questions about our methodology such as, What does location quotient or concentration mean? and, What is shift share and how does it work? Third, we have a glossary defining all the terms you encounter when working with EMSI data. Fourth and finally, the training page displays training webinars that you can join.

What if I have a question not covered in the knowledge base?

Our goal is to cover the majority of our clients’ questions, but we know we’ll miss a few. So don’t hesitate to reach out to a customer service representative or, even better, submit your question right there in the knowledge base so we can add it to our growing body of knowledge.

How do I access the knowledge base?

The knowledge base is currently available at kb.economicmodelling.ca. If you have Analyst, you will soon also be able to access the knowledge base by clicking on “Support” in the updated header.

What’s next?

We want our knowledge base to grow based upon what our customers find most helpful. We have some ideas, but if you want to see things like more videos, longer definitions (or shorter ones), or more information about our sources, let us know!
