The big news: In our ongoing commitment to empower data-driven decision-making, we're pleased to announce a significant enhancement to the Developer platform: the availability of city-level data.

Why City-Level Data Matters

Developer has long supported economic and workforce developers with up-to-date, granular data to help you understand your local economy, identify industry strengths, and analyze your regional workforce. And you’ve always been able to slice this data all the way down to the MSA, county, or ZIP code level. But we know that sometimes you need to answer questions, serve stakeholders, and develop strategies with even greater precision and specificity.

City-level data meets that need. With this new capability, you can now dive deeper into the economic and workforce landscape of individual cities, gaining insights that were previously out of reach:

  • Identify the unique labor market conditions in downtown areas versus suburban neighborhoods.
  • Compare economic performance and workforce characteristics between different cities, even within the same metropolitan area (e.g. Minneapolis vs. St. Paul).
  • Analyze economic development opportunities with a level of detail that allows for more tailored and impactful interventions.

Where to find it

City-level data is available now to all Developer subscribers within the following reports:

  • Profile Analytics*

  • Occupation Snapshot

  • Industry Snapshot

  • Job Posting Analytics*

  • Job Postings Table*

In these reports, you will find both the familiar "Government Region" radio button and a new "City" radio button in the "Select Region" section, providing the option to access city-level data within the reports. (Reports with a * are also availalbe in the Analyst platform for higher ed professionals).

Have suggestions or ideas for other reports where you’d like to see city-level data? Let us know! We welcome your feedback as we continue to improve Developer. Contact your account manager, or send us a note here.

Conclusion

The introduction of city-level data marks a significant milestone in our mission to unlock opportunity by providing unparalleled labor market insight. We’re excited to see how you’ll use this data to make an even greater impact on your communities. As always, we’re here to support you, so feel free to reach out with any questions or feedback!
